
The game begins with the Joker being escorted by Batman in the Batmobile to the asylum after being captured during an armed siege at Gotham City Hall. Though it is thanks to Batman that the criminally insane are brought back under control, administrator of Arkham, mayoral candidate Quincy Sharp, soon takes advantage and claims the credit himself for bringing the Arkham institution back under control.īatman is almost always outnumbered by enemies, needing to rely on his wits as much as his fists to defeat them. By the night's end, all the villains, save Bane, Croc and Crane, are recaptured and placed back in their cells and what remains of the staff try putting the Asylum back in order. Throughout the night, Batman is forced to deal with the temporarily admitted sane prisoners from Blackgate prison, Scarecrow, Zsasz, Poison Ivy, Bane, Killer Croc and Harley Quinn.
Batman investigates and comes to learn that the Joker is trying to create an army of Bane-like creatures to threaten Gotham City, and is forced to put a stop to the Joker's plans. The Joker, Batman's arch enemy, has instigated an elaborate plot from within Arkham Island, where many of Batman's other foes have been incarcerated.
2.2 Arkham East & Following Gordon's Trail. There might be some voice actors, like Nolan North, or have a little tougher gig, but the desire to make the end product fantastic is there for every actor. And then there's the agony of delivering a line or a grunt over and over again until it sounds perfect. The idea and the reality of voice acting are two different things, especially when so much pressure is placed on a sequel like this. It's been 20 years of voicing Batman for Kevin Conroy, and now he's at a point where he knows what Batman would say, and which lines would ring false. Along with seeing how the two actors play off each other, the video demonstrates just how familiar Conroy and Hamill have become with Batman and Joker. It might be a little odd to peek behind the curtain and see two men who look nothing like the characters they voice, but it helps build a respect for how difficult the job is. While both had previously voiced their respective characters in Arkham Asylum, they still continued to surprise Rocksteady Studios with new character dynamics and suggestions.
